Inilah Daftar Kota dengan Rekor Suhu Tertinggi di Dunia

Seperti diberitakan, suhu udara di Kota Bojonegoro, Kamis (20/10/2011), mencapai 43,8 derajat Celsius. Ini melampaui suhu udara di Mekkah, Arab Saudi, yang kemarin hanya 40 derajat Celsius.
Suhu udara di Bojonegoro itu lebih tinggi dibandingkan sengatan mentari di Padang Arafah, tempat berkumpulnya sekitar tiga juta umat Islam dari seluruh dunia yang tengah melaksanakan wukuf. Pada Selasa (18/10/2011), suhu udara di padang gurun seluas 5,5×3,5 kilometer persegi itu mencapai sekitar 38-42 derajat Celcius.
Itu sebabnya, para jemaah haji cepat letih. Maklum, Padang Arafah sangat gersang dan hanya sedikit terdapat bangunan, karena di luar musim haji, nyaris tidak ada manusia yang singgah ke situ. Beruntung ada rerimbunan pohon mindi yang bisa dipakai berteduh. Jemaah biasa menyebutnya sebagai “Pohon Soekarno’ karena memang memang mantan presiden RI itulah yang pertama kali menanamnya di sana.
Namun, apakah suhu 43,8 derajat Celsius itu suhu tertinggi yang pernah terjadi di muka bumi? Berdasar catatan, rekor suhu tertinggi pernah dicapai di kawasan Al ‘Aziziyah, Sahara, Libya, yakni 57,8 derajat Celcius. Ini terjadi pada 13 September 1922.
Al ‘Aziziyah adalah kota di Distrik Al Jfara, di barat laut Libya, 55 kilometer (34 mil) barat Tripoli. Al ‘Aziziyah merupakan pusat perdagangan utama dari dataran tinggi Jeffare Sahel, berada di jalur perdagangan dari pantai ke Pegunungan Nafusa dan wilayah Fezzan ke selatan.
Rekor berikut dicatat Death Valley, Amerika Serikat. dengan suhu udara 56,7 derajat Celcius pada 10 Juli, 1913. Death Valley adalah padang pasir di Timur California, di Gurun Mojave, lokasi paling kering, dan terpanas di Amerika Utara.
Setelah itu tercatat di kawasan tandus Mitraba di Kuwait utara yang pada 15 Juni 2010 suhu udaranya mencapai 55 derajat Celcius. Ini disusul Tirat Zvi, Israel, yang pada 21 Juni 1942 mencatat suhu 53,9 derajat Celcius, dan Mohenjo-daro, Pakistan, yang pada 26 Mei 2010 mencatat 53,5 derajat Celcius.
Suhu udara panas mengingatkan kita pada bencana gelombang panas. Seperti terjadi di kawasan tengah dan timur Amerika Serikat dan Kanada Juli 2011 lalu, gelombang panas dengan suhu mencapai 37 derajat Celcius telah menewaskan sedikitnya 22 orang per 22 Juli 2011. Gelombang ini merupakan perpaduan antara suhu udara yang panas dengan tingkat kelembapan tinggi. Gelombang panas rutin terjadi di Amerika Serikat dan rata-rata menewaskan 162 orang setiap tahun.
Hawa panas selama dua bulan juga telah menewaskan 66 warga Jepang dan mengirim sekitar 15.000 orang ke rumah sakit. Separo dari korban tewas saat berada di dalam ruangan, dalam bencana yang terjadi akhir Juli 2010 itu. Saat itu udara bersuhu sekitar 35 derajat Celcius berpadu dengan kelembapan udara tinggi.

Wow, Ibu 230 Kg Lahirkan Bayi 5,8 Kg

Berlin – Seorang ibu di Jerman yang berat badannya mencapai 239,4 kilogram melahirkan bayi seberat 5,8 kilogram. Wow!

Bayi yang diberi nama Jihad dan dilahirkan di Rumah Sakit Charite ini memecahkan rekor sebagai bayi terbesar yang dilahirkan secara normal di Jerman.
Ukuran badannya itu disebabkan sang ibu mengidap diabetes dan mengaku tak tahu ia memiliki penyakit itu. Hebatnya, Jihad sudah memiliki 13 saudara.
“Ibu ini memaksa melahirkan normal meski resikonya amat tinggi. Biasanya, kami menolak kelahiran normal jika berat bayi di atas 4,5 kg,” ujar dr Wolfgang Henrich, kepala klinik obstetrik di RS itu.
Meski begitu, Jihad bukanlah bayi pertama berukuran luar biasa. Pada Juli lalu, bayi JaMichael lahir di Texas, Amerika Serikat (AS), dengan berat 7,2 kg.
Berdasarkan catatan Guiness Book of World Records, Ann Bates dari Kanada masih memegang rekor melahirkan bayi terbesar pada 1879, dengan berat sekitar 10,5 kg.
